Ron Jairus Villamor, a ninth grader hits the waves once again as he grabs nine new medals for SSIS


RJ participated in the Southern Tagalog Amateur Swimmers’ Association (STASA) Phase 1 Championships held last Saturday, August 20, 2016. He got two (2) Gold Medals in 50m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle; five (5) Silver Medals in 200m Backstroke; 200m Freestyle; 200m Individual Medley; 100m Backstroke, and 200SCM Freestyle Relay; and two (2) Bronze Medals in 50M Butterfly and 200M Butterfly. Over-all he was victorious in nine events. The valiant swimmer started hitting the waters when he was four years old. His inspiration for swimming is Michael Phelps, the Olympian god-incarnate of swimming himself. RJ thinks that swimming is the best sport as it helps him stay fit, healthy and strong. RJ advised the swimming enthusiasts is to keep swimming because hard work pays off.

“My ambition is to be the next professional and famous swimmer like my childhood hero.”
